Traffic Noise can be broken down into 3 main categories; road, rail and air. There are defined methods for measuring actual and calculating the predictive values. At dB Consultation Ltd, we have extensive knowledge and experience of measuring current levels and calculating future levels. We have also invested in state-of-the-art software which enables graphical representation and predictive modelling, making for a clearer and more concise conclusion for any planning application or hearing. The design for noise barrier or bunds can also be undertaken to initiate the required levels of noise reduction.

The Calculation for Road Traffic Noise (CRTN) is a recognised method for calculating future noise levels and vibration levels and is utilised for any road traffic contracts entered into. Similar systems apply for the rail industry, Calculation of Rail Noise (CRN), and we have consultants who are approved for "trackside" work. We have assisted on predictive works for local international airport enlargement programmes and also been involved in the long term monitoring of actual noise and vibration levels associated with the current set up.
